Counselling and Psychotherapy

Yasuyo Anne Uehara, MA

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and that's okay. Everyone faces challenges that can be hard to navigate alone.  Counselling offers a dedicated time and place where you can focus on you and talk openly about deeper issues. It’s a space to explore the landscape and shadows of your internal world and draw from the understanding of how past experiences and inner dynamics shape your present reality.

Inspired by the wisdom and transformative principles of mindfulness, psychoanalysis, and Internal Family Systems psychotherapy, I seek to cultivate the power of genuine connection grounded in deep listening and thoughtful exploration. My approach appeals to those grappling with existential questions, navigating complex emotions, and seeking deeper self-understanding.

In our sessions, we will delve into the system of your psyche, uncovering the unconscious motivations and conflicts that drive your current struggles. Our work together will also integrate the insights of Internal Family Systems, helping to map out the different parts of yourself in conflict. By understanding and unburdening these parts, I believe we can unlock profound sources of energy and vitality, guiding you toward a more authentic and inspired life.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It shows a commitment to yourself and your future well-being. Let's take this journey together, one step at a time, toward a happier, healthier you.

We can work together online or in person in leafy Spring Hill, a cozy refuge in the inner city of Brisbane.

What is Flow?

Flow is a state marked by surrendering completely to the moment, where time disappears, and anxious self-consciousness drops off the radar. We come back to an inherent chatter-less mind, fully awake and joyfully aware. Flow is a universal, positive human capacity. The practices of Mindfulness are circling around the same phenomenon when it talks about present moment awareness.
