Counsellor and Psychotherapist
I’m privileged to have 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, addictions, and trauma. As a trauma-trained therapist with expertise in Internal Family Systems and psychodynamic therapy, I believe that deep inner work involves exploring the parts of ourselves that often remain in the shadows, sometimes exiled into the unconscious. This process opens the door to bringing what’s hidden into the light, allowing for healing and transformation.
Embracing this journey can be challenging, but it’s through facing our emotional pain that we learn, grow, and change. Each day becomes an opportunity to mature and evolve with the flow of life. It’s an ongoing practice of humility, self-reflection, mindfulness, and ultimately, love and trust.
My passion for helping clients discover their true selves stems from my own journey. I grew up in New York, but inside my home, I was deeply influenced by my Japanese culture, which valued spiritual practices like meditation from a young age. These practices sparked a deep curiosity about human nature, igniting a passion for psychology and spirituality, which have always been intertwined for me.
In 2004, I moved to Australia to pursue my academic interests in counseling in Brisbane. I also completed advanced training in yoga and meditation, which further opened my eyes to the profound impact that spiritual practices and psychotherapy can have on the mind, body, and our connection to a deeper reality.

Today, I see ancient and scientific practices as vital tools for healing the mind and accessing the wisdom of the present moment. These practices help us navigate our unique life paths—whether in work, health, or relationships—by creating the conditions for insight and wisdom to guide our choices.
We live in a time of great unrest, with polarized mindsets and uncertainties about our personal and planetary futures. To a large extent, what we experience externally reflects our internal state, both individually and collectively.
For those willing to turn inward and explore the inner reality, the journey can be life-altering.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi
This is what the mythologist Joseph Campbell referred to as the Hero’s Journey—a timeless, sacred quest of turning within to overcome personal challenges and emerging with greater wisdom and clarity. This journey serves a higher purpose, not only benefiting the individual and the family, but gifts the collective with a vision to support and protect the future for all.
This is the work I offer: deep inner transformation and systemic growth.
It is a true privilege to work with people willing to trust me on their personal journey towards recovery and greater integration of past difficulties. It continually teaches me about healing, resilience, and the power of the human spirit.
